Sal’s mother reminds Sal that she can put her tooth under the pillow and make a wish. Sal wants to go to Buck’s Harbor, but has to deal with her tooth that is coming loose and helping her younger sister, Jane. The protagonist, Sal, is a young girl who is in the process of losing a tooth. ![]() This state, with its rugged coastlines and timeless companionship with the sea and fishing, lends itself well to a childrens story that is built around the childhood experience of losing a tooth. ![]() This is yet another delightful Robert McCloskey children’s book set in the beautiful and rugged State of Maine. ![]()
